Abstract: I am very happy to introduce Issue-1, Volume-2 of an online e-journal entitled, “International Journal of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences (IJMPBS)”, which is a peer reviewed and subscription free open access journal. This issue comprises of one research and three review articles. This issue covers topics from the different disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences. A review article has provided a comprehensive insight about nanocrystals and drug delivery using silk nanospheres. The current issue deliberates about a systematic approach to be followed in pharmaceutical industry for cleaning validation. This issue also covers in depth discussion on sources, properties, and applications of galactomannans as an important excipient in pharmaceutical dosage forms.

2. Article ID. 0027 : An Overview on Nanocrystal Technology and Drug Delivery System
Authors: Sayali R. Ahire*, Santosh S. Surana, Avish D. Maru, Rajendra K. Surase
Abstract: Nanotechnology in pharmaceuticals has pioneered the way for disease detection and therapies. Its ramifications in the field of health care are becoming recognized, as it allows for faster and less expensive treatments. It is possible to achieve efficient drug targeting and movement through barriers using nanotechnology. Scientists must resolve several serious issues such as safety, bioethical issues, toxicity hazards, and physiological and pharmacological challenges. In conclusion, regulators should develop clear criteria to reduce/balance the risks associated with therapeutic outcomes. The purpose of this brief review is to provide detailed illustrations on innovative applications, Nanocrystal Preparation methods, Evaluation criteria, and Nanogel Advantages and Disadvantages.
Keywords: Nanogel, Nanocrystals, Nanotechnology, Evaluation.

3. Article ID. 0028 : Drug Delivery By Using Silk Nanosphere: A Review

Abstract: Silk fibroin (SF) is a protein-based biomacromolecule that has excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, and immunogenicity. The development of SF-based nanoparticles for drug administration stands out because of its high restriction limit in terms of various drugs, regulated drug discharge qualities, and other factors. Silk fibroin (SF) is a protein-based biomacromolecule that has excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, and immunogenicity. Because of the high restriction limit in terms of different drugs, regulated drug discharge qualities, and mild planning circumstances, the advancement of SF-based nanoparticles for drug administration stands out sufficiently to be noted. The modified or recombinant SF-based nanoparticles can be designed to work on the restorative proficiency of drugs incorporated in these nanoparticles by adjusting the molecule size, the substance composition, and the method. They can be used to deliver small particle pharmaceuticals, protein and growth factor drugs, quality treatments, and so on in this manner. This study summarises recent progress on SF-based nanoparticles, including synthetic design, characteristics, and planning methods. The use of SF-based nanoparticles as transporters for therapeutic medicines is also being investigated.
Keywords : Silk fibroin, Nanoparticles, Drug administration, Planning methods.

4. Article ID. 0029 : Practical Approach in Cleaning Validation: A Systematic Review
Authors: Hariram Yadav*, Harshal Ashok Pawar
Abstract: In pharmaceutical industry there are some possibilities of contamination and cross contamination because of improper cleaning of equipment, apparatus, processing area or the starting material, this can lead to severe hazards, therefore in pharmaceutical industry we can’t afford any contamination as well as cross contamination. Cleaning validation is the methodology used to assure that a cleaning process removes residues of the active pharmaceutical ingredients of the product manufactured in a piece of equipment. All residues are removed to predetermined levels to ensure the quality of the next product. Today, manufactured is not compromised by waste from the previous product and the quality of future products using the equipment, to prevent cross contamination, and as a good manufacturing practices requirement. In this article cleaning validation and cleaning validation program discussed in brief.
Keywords: Validation, Cleaning Validation, Contamination, Clean in Place.

5. Article ID. 0030: Galactomannan As A Natural Source of Pharmaceutical Excipient for Sustained Release Dosage Form: A Review
Authors: Harshal Ashok Pawar
Abstract: Galactomannans are neutral hemicellulose biopolymers that strengthen the plant cell walls by interacting with cellulose in the form of storage polysaccharides. They are abundant in nature and are majorly present in the secondary walls of flowering plants. They are primarily extracted from the leguminous seed endosperms and display a wide variation at the structural and abundance level amongst different plant species. There are four major sources of seed galactomannans: locust bean (Ceratonia siliqua), guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba), tara (Caesalpinia spinosa Kuntze), and fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.). Through keen references of reported literature on galactomannans, in this review, we have described occurrence of various galactomannans, its physicochemical properties, characterization, applications, and overview of some major galactomannans.
Keywords: Galactomannans, Natural Polymers, Excipient, Dosage form.
